Metropolis Hvac

Before you hire Metropolis Hvac

New York does not license HVAC contractors at the state level. Cities and counties set their own rules; check with your local building department.

• The typical home in Yonkers was built in 1958.
• When replacing a furnace or air conditioner in a home built around 1958, ask for a load calculation (ACCA Manual J) instead of matching the old unit's size: insulation, windows and duct condition change over the decades, and a correctly sized system runs more efficiently.
• Yonkers is heating-dominated, so heating efficiency matters most when you replace a system: AFUE for furnaces, HSPF2 for heat pumps.
